Sandra Bullock is Nominated for Best Female Performance at the MTV Movie Awards
Posted on Thursday, May 27th, 2010After winning the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, Sandra Bullock is nominated for Best Female Performance at the MTV Movie Awards for her heart-warming portrayal of a real-life mom, interior decorator Leigh Anne Tuohy, who sees no limits, colors, or class divide when it comes to family and love.
Fresh from filing a divorce to her unfaithful husband Jesse James, actress Sandra Bullock is believed to be making a return to public life at the MTV Movie Awards on June 6 and may again receive a best-actress award following the success of her blockbuster movie, The Blind Side. Inspired by a real life drama about a family who adopted an African-American kid and helped his way to success, The Blind Side is the first movie ever driven solely by a top female star to break $200 million, according to Variety. The drama box office receipts totaled $208.5 million on its first week alone.
Other nominees for the said award is Kristen Stewart, Emma Watson, Zoe Saldana and Amanda Seyfried. Bullock is also nominated for the Best Comedic Performance for the role of Margaret Tate in The Proposal.
45-year-old Sandra Annette Bullock was born in Arlington, Virginia but lived in Germany until age twelve. She is the daughter of a German opera singer and a Pentagon contractor from Alabama. Bullock became famous in the 1990s, after roles in successful movies, such as Speed and While You Were Sleeping. Her 2004 movie Crash firmed her reputation as a respected actress and made her one of the most bankable female stars in the world.
