New York City Public Schools will be Closed tomorrow Due To Snow. The NYC public schools closed ““due to anticipated inclement weather conditions,” Chancellor of the New York City Department of Education Joel Klein said in a statement. 8 to 13 inches of snow storm may dump in New York City and Long Island.

The New York City officials closed the public schools because of the predicted massive snow storm. About 1.1 million students are in the public school system. National Weather Service had been issued a winter storm advisory for New York’s Southern Tier, along Pennsylvania.

“While travel conditions to school in the morning may not be difficult, the weather is expected to worsen as the day progresses, complicating dismissal,” said Joel Klein in a statement. “We are making this decision today to give parents as much time as possible to make alternative plans for tomorrow,” he added.
