Larry Langford Sentencing News Update
Posted on Saturday, March 6th, 2010The Former Birmingham Alabama Mayor Larry Langford was sentenced to 15 years and fined $360,000 for taking $241,000 in bribes in exchange for giving $7.2 millions in sewer-bond and derivatives business.

Larry Langford is 63 years old. He was found guilty for multiple accounts of bribery last October.
The prosecutors had asked for a jail term of at least 24 years but he still got 15 years. His accomplices, Bill Blount, an investment banker who plead guilty to bribing Langford in an earlier trial, was sentenced to 52 months and lobbyist, Al LaPierre, who also plead guilty, to 48 months in prison.
