Lady Gaga Not Banned From Yankees Stadium
Posted on Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010Lady Gaga has not been actually banned from the New York Yankees clubhouse. She is still welcome, but she’ll just have to follow their house-rules like anyone else.
After the Yankees lost to Mets on Friday’s game, Lady Gaga sneaked past security to tell them how much she loved them. But apparently, the team didn’t approve of her antics as it was reported that Yankees’ upset co-chairman Hal Steinbrenner permanently barred her from the locker room.
The singer arrived at the game wearing nothing more than a bra, bikini bottom and a pin-striped Yankees jersey. She reportedly convinced the security guards to grant her access to the clubhouse in order to meet the players. The incident caused a stir by delaying media access to Yankees team members. Lady Gaga was also seen drinking whiskey and holding her breast during the visit.
New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said that Lady Gaga is welcome back at the clubhouse under more appropriate circumstances. “That was the wrong time and the wrong place,” he told the reporters about the incident.”Celebrities aren’t banned. If Michael Jordan showed up here, he would have access [to the clubhouse], but not after a loss.”
Cashman blamed security for letting the singer in, when they only should have done so if the Yankees hadn’t lost the game. “There is just a time and place.”
“Our guys know that when it’s time to play, it’s time to play, and they’re used to it,” Yankees manager Joe Girardi told reporters about the situation.
