iTune Store Down: iTune Store Not Working: iTune Down
Posted on Monday, March 8th, 2010iTune Store Down: iTune Store Not Working: iTune Down – iTune Store is not working right now, it means that the iTune Store is down. We’re getting lots of reports from lots of different places that Apple’s iTunes Store and App Store are down or otherwise erroring out for users. let us know if you’re getting errors, what kind, and in what country…
At first I thought it would be just me, but I asked about 10 different people via AIM, and 8 said they were having issues updating their apps via iTunes and surfing through certain apps. Some work, some don’t.
Here’s the message appearing in the iTune store when you try to access it now.
The issues don’t seem to be widespread, so if you’re perfectly fine not getting any errors, don’t be surprised. Some have reported zero issues, but the majority of the people I’ve asked have had some issues.
Let me know if you’ve had any other issues, or if everything is fine.
Update – It looks like the issues with the iTunes store are Worldwide, instead of only in the US. Hope Apple fixes this soon.

I am having this problem as well attempting to reauthorize my 5th generation iPod. It has been authorized for years and now it suddenly is not. Syncing the iPod dropped my iTunes purchases off of it.

I thought I had posted this solution from the Apple discussion board. It worked for me:
1) Save important files and Force Quit Itunes
That’s it….it worked for me and everything is working properly
2) Make sure all applications are closed
3) Open Safari
4) Click on “Safari” and click “Empty Cache”
5) Close Safari
6) Open Itunes and click “Store” and “Authorize Computer”
7) Enter your User name and password and click OK.
