Guatemala Earthquake Today January 18, 2010

Guatemala Earthquake – After the haiti massive earthquake and other quakes on Oklahoma, Venezuela, Argentina, today we are facing on Guatemala Earthquake. A 6.0 magnitude earthquake shakes Guatemala on Monday January 18, 2010 at approximately 9:40 local time. According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake hits Guatemala Monday morning 60 miles southwest of Guatemala City. The epicenter of the Guatemala Earthquake was 64.2 miles deep and 24 miles west-southwest of Ahuchapin, El Salvador. In an initial report two countries were affected in the earthquake, the Guatemala and El Salvador. There were no injuries or damage have been reported.
The Guatemala Earthquake has 64 miles deep, while the Haiti Eartquake was 5 miles deep, causing more damage and affecting a wider area. The most massive earthquake struck Guatemala was in 1976. A 7.5 magnitude earthquake shakes Guatemala at 3:00 AM, 5 km deep.

I hope all Volcanologists see these and keep an eye on the volcanoes around Lake Atitlán, Solola, Guatemala. These and other volcanoes around that are seem to possibly might be causing these earthquakes.
IF any of you see this message, please try, if you can send and update on the volcanoes in that Central American area. I have friends that live down there.

Yes…they have been inactive for sometime now, but then again so was Mount St. Helens until 1980

And if anyone sees this and can bring attention to this…that would be very very helpful!! I just know a little bit about volcanoes and how they work. Only a professional might be able to calm my nerves. I know I could be ‘freaking out’ for no reason, but I am just really concerned about the friends I made down there on a mission trip I went on last year. Thanks again for your help!!
