The two finalists of the American Idol came to the showdown as they sing for the last time on Idol stage Tuesday night at the Nokia Theatre. Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox gave all their best performances in front of awed fans and the final judging begins after the showdown. Only one question is left: Who will win American Idol 2010?

Dewyze and Bowersox sang three songs each. The first was their favorite song of the season, the second was picked by the executive producer Simon Fuller, and the third is the song they will release as their first single  should they win the competition.

Not surprisingly, Lee sang “The Boxer” as his favorite song of the season. He sang it so well like the first time, but his voice seemed too soft and the band seemed to drowned and overpowered him. Simon said that Lee’s performance was a “kiss on the cheek when it needed to be a kiss on the lips.”

“Me and Bobby McGee” was Crystal’s favorite song of the season. Once again, she sounded truly impassioned and obviously felt the song and embraced the audience as she was singing, although at times her high notes sounded like a screech. Ellen said that she is compelling at the stage.

Simon Fuller picked “Everybody Hurts” by REM for Lee DeWyze. The vocals came out pretty good but it lacked the emotion that the song is needing. Randy commented that he could feel the Lee that he loves.

Simon Fuller’s pick for Crystal Bowersox was “Black Velvet” which sounded perfect for her voice. Crystal really belted it out and gave it her all and anyone can tell she is right where she needs to be to take the title.

Lee chose “Beautiful Day” by U2 as his last song which sounded better than the first two. Even though he went out of tune a couple of times, he redeemed himself by showing his personality more and giving that cute smile. Kara said that Lee had the most commercial voice and had grown more than anyone else.

Crystal Bowersox sang “Up To The Mountain” to close the show. She really put her heart and soul into into the performance and showed some vulnerability that got Simon saying, “I thought that was by far the performance and the song of the night. And since this is going to be the final critique I’m ever going to give, that was outstanding.”
