All About Mr. Hudson
Posted on Sunday, May 9th, 2010The real name of Mr. Hudson is Benjamin Hudson McIldowie. He was born in 1979. He is British R&B/pop artist based in London, England. He was formerly known as Mr. Hudson & The Library. He is currently signed to music producer Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music.
Mr. Hudson confirmed his second studio album, straight No Chaser, way back in 13th of May 2009. That album was released on the 5th of October 2009, with a preceding single hit “Supernova”.
He was influenced by many contemporary music personalities such as Chet Baker, David Bowie, The Police, Andre 3000, Dizzee Rascal, and Ella Fitzgerald. Otgether with The Library before, he was known to show energetic live performances which included steelpan and a piano. They were nominated for “Best Newcomer” at UK’s 2007 Festival Awards.
Presently, Mr. hudson is working with Kanye West, Dizzee Rascal, Kid Culi, N-Dubz, Tinie Tempah, Big Sean, and Jay-Z. He had also toured together with Calvin Harris. His vocal style and performance has been compared to that of Sting. He is currently accompanied by Joy Joseph (vocals and steel drum), Rob Barron (keyboard), Raphael Mann (bass guitar) and Andrew “Wilkie” Wilkinson (electric drums).
In the rap world, Mr. Hudson joins with Hov for that second take of the night’s musical performance in their duo “Forever Young”.
